Cleveland police released new details of what had been reported as a fatal head-on collision Sunday night on Cleveland's East Side. They're now calling it a serious crash that resulted in grave injuries to a 28-year-old man. Police say the man "sustained non-survivable injuries" and remains hospitalized. He was the front passenger in a Volkswagen Passat that was traveling west on Kinsman near E. 64th St. when a 21-year-old man driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east struck the Passat head-on while trying to pass other eastbound vehicles. The driver of the Passat was a 28-year-old man who sustained injuries to his head and back. Three children, ages 9, 10 and 11, were also passengers in the Passat and were all taken to a hospital for treatment of various injuries. [This story was updated at 11:01 a.m.]
Mount Carmel Health System has confirmed that a patient died Sunday following an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease at its new $361 million hospital in Grove City, near Columbus. Seven patients have been diagnosed with the disease. The hospital said it’s working with county and state officials to identify the source of the bacteria.
Youngstown Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate said during a CNN town hall Sunday night that he supports launching impeachment proceedings against President Trump. He said special counsel Robert Mueller would have prosecuted Trump if he wasn't the sitting president. The question of impeachment has divided the Democratic Party. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's speech before the California Democratic Party's annual convention over the weekend was interrupted by cries of "Impeach!" from delegates. Pelosi said Trump would be "held accountable," but she did not say the i-word.
Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough will be at the Statehouse today to talk about his new book, “The Pioneers,” that focuses heavily on Ohio. The book is about the first pioneers from New England who settled the Northwest Territory, forming what is now the Ohio River city of Marietta.
