Passengers at Cleveland Hopkins Airport already look to the digital display screens for flight arrival and departure information. Starting today (Wednesday), new screens will display which security checkpoint has the fastest moving lines. The airport is testing new technology that shows wait times at its three security checkpoints.
The The system was developed in-house to ease log jams, according to airport spokesperson Michele Dynia.
"One of the complaints was that our wait times were a little long. Now not only are we shrinking our wait times, this gives people the opportunity to figure out where they want to go, instead of taking the gamble and thinking, ‘I’m on Concourse C, I should take the checkpoint at C,’ ” Dynia said.
Dynia said the airport now has roving employees - called "Landside Ops" who will help guide passengers to the fastest moving line.
