Indians to Host the 2019 MLB All-Star Game

The Cleveland Indians and Major Baseball League formally announced last Friday that Cleveland will host the 90 th annual All-Star game in 2019. So far the city is expecting the All-Star game will bring in around $60 million in economic impact for the city. While speaking at the City Club of Cleveland, Indian’s manager Terry Francona, said it’ll be an opportunity to showcase baseball and the city.

“I think the All-Star game a lot like the RNC, I think it’s going to be wonderful for the city of Cleveland,” Francona said. “For the downtown, the people with businesses, restaurants, bars. And also I think it’s a time for Cleveland to show just who we are. You know, how we conduct ourselves. How we act. Let the world see that and I think it’s going to be wonderful. It’s a celebration of baseball, but I think it’ll end up being a celebration of Cleveland.”

In 2019, it’ll be in the 90 th anniversary of the All-Star game and the 6 th time in franchise history that the Cleveland will be hosting.
