The Cleveland Browns have two more chances to avoid an 0-16 season.
The classic image of the long-suffering Browns fan late in the season, is standing in a cold, nearly empty stadium with a paper bag over his head. Well, Chris McNeil, organizer of a perfect season parade to recognize the second oh-and-sixteen season in NFL history, if it happens, isn’t interested in hiding in shame this year.
“This Browns fandom, we deserve better. We deserve better as a city. We deserve better as a fan base," said McNeil.
McNeil plans to hold a parade on January 7, forming an ‘O’ on the streets around First Energy Stadium. He says he’ll be at Saturday’s game. And as a fan and someone who does not enjoy organizing parades, he hopes the Browns win.
The 5-9 San Diego Chargers come to town this weekend. Then the Browns close the season on New Year’s Day with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are the worst, but also in playoff contention.
