Five To Do In NEO: Gallery At Cleveland Museum Of Art, Festivals And More

The arts community in Northeast Ohio continues to organize cool events despite the July heat. From a new photo exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art to a Folk & Wine festival at Hale Farm, here are five events to enjoy this week.

"A New York Minute"

The Cleveland Museum of Art opens “A New York Minute: Street Photography 1920-1950” Saturday, July 10. The photo gallery features candid images of day-to-day life in New York City during the first half of the 20 th century from a wide range of street photographers. The exhibition will be on view through September 7.

Inkubator Conference

Literary Cleveland opens “Inkubator,” its free annual festival for writers and readers Sunday, July 11. The festival runs through July 25 and features a new online program that is open to the public each day, including workshops, panel discussions, craft talks, open mics and a keynote address.

Cain Park Arts Festival

The 2021 Cain Park Arts Festival runs this weekend on Friday, July 9, 3– 8 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 11, noon – 5 p.m. The festival will feature works of artists from across the country in a variety of mediums, including jewelry, ceramics, glass, leather and mixed media.

Floral Landscapes Exhibition Artist Reception

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center hosts the “ Floral and Landscapes Exhibition” through July 22. The artist reception for the show, juried by painter Jessica Loftus, is Friday, July 9, 5:30 – 7 p.m., in the main gallery. Visitors are invited to meet with the artists and enjoy refreshments and art at the reception, where awards will be announced. The art on display is a collection of portrayals of flowers, landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes and skylines.

Music in the Valley - Folk & Wine Festival

The Western Reserve Historical Society presents “Music in the Valley – Folk & Wine Festival” Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at Hale Farm & Village. Listen to music from casual performers to some of the region’s top performers while enjoying regional wine and local food vendors. Some of the participating vendors include CLE Urban Winery, Wishmaker House Winery, Hofbrauhaus Cleveland, Café 1810 and more.
