It's going to be a virtual Thanksgiving this year, and Northeast Ohio artists and arts institutions have a number of online performances in store.
Here are five online offerings to enjoy from regional arts groups during this long holiday weekend.
Creative Destruction Collective
Led by visual artist and dancer Corrie Slawson, the Creative Destruction Collective presents " Feast: A Ballet" this weekend. The five-part, 32-minute ballet explores conspicuous consumption in America and premieres online Friday, November 27, at 7 p.m.
Cleveland Public Theatre
CPT presents another season of its boozy, comedy tradition for the holidays, featuring the frisky, fictional siblings Holly and Jolly Loush. Starring Liz Conway and Beth Wood " The Loush Sisters Pay Per View (Buffer This!)" takes the bawdy party online November 27 through December 19.
Mourning [A] BLKstar
Cleveland's Afro-futurist music collective Mourning [A] BLKstar share the story of the group's sixth studio album in a series of performance videos. " The Mourning [A] BLKstar Residencies" are presented by SPACES Gallery Urgent Art Fund from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
The Cleveland Orchestra
Musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra filmed a video series of performances throughout Northeast Ohio for the Music Medicine Initiative. Performing for regional healthcare workers and patients as well as communities affected by the pandemic, the weekly videos can be viewed on the orchestra's YouTube channel.
Wolfs Gallery
The Beachwood gallery Wolfs presents the exhibit " Sommer's Children" featuring portraits by prestigious Cleveland School painter William Sommer. While the exhibit is open to the public by appointment, the exhibition and catalog are online now for viewing.
