It may have started as a Twitter battle, but presidential candidates Gov. John Kasich and Donald Trump now seem locked in a regular feud. From our Statehouse Bureau Andy Chow takes a look.
From his comments on Sunday morning talk shows to social media posts -- Gov. John Kasich seems to be positioning himself as the main thorn in Donald Trump’s heel.
Kyle Kondik is managing editor of The Crystal Ball, at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. He says Kasich has targeted Trump more aggressively than any other candidate.
Kondik: “You know it’s simple for Kasich. If he can’t win New Hampshire he’s not going to be the nominee and Trump is leading New Hampshire so it’s natural for someone behind the leader in a given state to try to chip away at that leader and I think that’s what we’re seeing from Kasich.”
The latest Quinnipiac poll has Trump leading with 27% and Kasich at 2%.
