The victim was identified as 34-year-old William D. Williams of Cleveland - and was found by responding officers, deceased, at a house in the 10600 block of Grantwood Avenue.
Police homicide investigators were working the case this morning.
Chief Williams has been with the City of Cleveland's Police Department since 1986.
