J. Kevin Kelley Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison in Cuyahoga County Corruption Case

J. Kevin Kelley was given to six years in prison and ordered to pay more than $700,000 in restitution.

Kelley, a former county employees and Parma School Board member, had pleaded guilty in 2009 to conspiracy to commit mail fraud, conspiracy to commit theft or bribery and other charges.

Kelley admitted to taking part in schemes that included a trip to Las Vegas with former county commissioner Jimmy Dimora and former auditor Frank Russo.

In a pre-sentencing memo, Kelley’s attorney John Gibbons said Kelley took responsibility for his actions. Gibbons stressed Kelley’s cooperation with authorities during the county corruption investigation. Kelley served as a witness for the prosecution against Dimora.

Kelley’s restitution will go to Cuyahoga County, Parma Schools and the IRS.
