The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning from 7 AM Wednesday until 7 AM Thursday for lake border counties in Northeast Ohio, and a Winter Storm Warning for the entire region. Heavy snow and wind gusts of 35 mph will create blizzard conditions during the height of the storm Wednesday afternoon and early evening, which could dump eight to 12 inches on the area. Heavy snows is expected to be in full force by 11 AM Wednesday.
The ODOT has already begun road cleaning measures and has full crews operational in both its NEO Districts.
United Airlines plans to cancel about 60 percent of its flights beginning at noon Wednesday. A spokesman says it is because of the anticipated effects of the storm.... but added that the airline is waiving fees for passengers who will have to change flight plans because of the storm.
