500 New Jobs At Cleveland Casino

The new gambling casino being built in Cleveland is now taking job applications for card dealers and supervisors—500 in all. They are part of the projected 16-hundred permanent employees the casino will have. Matthew Cullen is President and chief Operating Officer for Rock Gaming, which will operate the casino. He says the dealers’ jobs are well paying.

He says, "Jobs of the dealers are 35,000, 40,000 dollars plus full benefits, so they're nice jobs that people can take care of their families with. You know, gratuities and other things as well, so they’re great jobs and will be open before the end of March in 2012. So, it’s an exciting time for us."

Cullen figures about 95% of the new casino workers will come from the Cleveland metro area. The new gambling operation in Cleveland will be called Horseshoe Casino. The company is also building a new casino in Cincinnati. It’s set to open in the spring of 2013. Ohio voters in 2009 okayed the idea of 4 gambling casinos --- on each in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Toledo.
