Minority Democrats in the Ohio legislature are proposing a new way to hold down the near record-number of home foreclosures. The lawmakers want to Ohio to start licensing mortgage SERVICERS. State Representative Mike Foley tells statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen the state needs the power to ORDER those financial companies to do a better job.
Foley is the sponsor of a NEW measure, aimed at lowering the number of foreclosures in Ohio. Last year, lenders filed more than 85-thousand foreclosures. That was about 4% fewer than the record-high number in 2009.
