Advocates for passenger rail service in Ohio are pleased about the newly appointed head of the Ohio Department of Transportation. Ken Pendergast of All Aboard Ohio expects Jolene Molitoris, the woman who will take over the transportation agency soon, will be friendly to passenger rail. Molitoris currently serves as chairwoman of the Ohio Rail Development Commission. She was the first woman to head the Federal Railroad Administration back in the ‘90s. She will take over for current ODOT Director James Beasley when he leaves his post at the end of this month.
