Pakistan's Musharraf Readies for Re-Election

Pakistan's President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, is taking steps to smooth his way for re-election on Saturday. He's named a successor as army chief, a role he's promised to surrender. The election is a mere precursor to President Musharraf's real battle to hold power. His government is planning an amnesty that would remove corruption cases against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who he's courting as a political ally.
