Only eight counties in Ohio can locate callers to 911 who are on cell phones. A national group tracking 911 access says only Oklahoma is doing worse. Since last year, the state has been collecting 32 cents a month from Ohio cell phone users to put a wireless 911 pinpointing system in place statewide. Shana Eiselstein with the Public Utilities Commission says that money is being parceled out.
Shana Eiselstein: We're approving that money as more counties come in, so far we've authorized money to 52 counties.
Eiselstein says the PUCO expects those counties are expected to complete their systems by the end of next year. Bill Rice, 90.3.
