Government restructuring in Cuyahoga County could be a symbol of change to come all over Ohio. The Ohio Commission on Local Government Reform and Collaboration recommends reining in tax abatements, establishing incentives for local governments to collaborate and encouraging communities to share tax revenues. We’ve heard some of this before. We’ll ask members of the commission why they think the seeds of change will take root this time. Join us with your thoughts Thursday at 9:00 a.m. on the Sound of Ideas.

Why does Ohio allow double and triple dipping for state employees? Does it not increase cost to the tax payers, reduce transfer of skills to the next generation, minimize job creation and prevent new creative ways of solving regional and state problems?
Also, why doesn’t NE Ohio use its cold climate to attract Google, Yahoo, Microsoft to set up their(computer) server farms and create high tech jobs here? These farms need a lot of energy to cool them. Setting them up here will attract IT companies, which can tie in with the Clinic to develop health care IT.
