Gov. Kasich To Visit Iowa, New Hampshire

Gov. John Kasich has booked some more out of state travel. Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler reports it continues to fuel speculation about a potential presidential run.

Kasich plans to go to Iowa for the first time as a possible presidential candidate.  The visit to the first caucus state is considered a key moment for his campaign, which University of Cincinnati political science professor David Niven says is seemingly increasingly likely, based on his travel schedule.

"He's really let this persist and spent a considerable amount of time in states that only have relevance to somebody that wants to be president," Niven said.

On NBC's "Meet The Press" Sunday, Kasich didn't reveal to host Chuck Todd any announcements, but said if he runs, he intends to succeed. "If I think I can't win, Chuck, I wouldn't do it," said Kasich.

Kasich will be in New Hampshire on Thursday and Friday of this week.
