A years-long legal drama comes to a climax, today, in Akron federal court.
Former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora is due to be sentenced for his conviction on racketeering and 31 other charges. The hearing started at 9:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Sara Lioi
Before the sentencing, attorneys for the prosecution and defense will have one more chance to weigh in. Dimora himself, and his family, will also have the chance to enter a plea for leniency.
Dimora could face 22 years in prison.
