Primary Election Becomes Main Focus, And Two Democratic Senate Candidates Talk About Issues - And Each Other

We still have more than a week till March 15, but this week was all about the Ohio primary, with Donald Trump visiting and Ohio Republicans such as Auditor Dave Yost and Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo making their concerns about a Trump nomination real by saying they would not support him as their nominee. And U.S. Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) was a bit cagey on Trump in a conference call with reporters this week.

Portman is among those on the primary ballot on March 15. He faces a primary opponent in Columbus resident Don Elijah Eckhart. And there are three candidates on the Democratic side – Cincinnati occupational therapist Kelli Prather, Cincinnati City Councilman PG Sittenfeld and former Gov. Ted Strickland, who is the endorsed Democratic candidate. Only Strickland and Sittenfeld have shown up in polling on the Democratic primary. Strickland and Sittenfeld both sat down for separate one-on-one interviews in the last week.
