Your Answers: Tell us about a veteran in your life!

Last week we learned about Veterans Day. And asked you to:  Tell us about a veteran in your life !

“My dad, Adam is not one that fought in wars, but was important because he cooked for soldiers. He is special because the Army may not have gotten good food and good amounts of it if it weren't for him.”

— Eva from Hull Prairie Intermediate in Perrysburg

“Some veterans in my life are my uncle, my aunt, and my grandpa. My aunt is still in the Navy Seals and she is a general four-star Admiral. My uncle was in the Marines and he was a general. My grandpa flew the bomber plane in World War II. When I grow up I want to be a UAV pilot.”

— Anthony from Fayetteville Middle School in Fayetteville

“My veteran is my dad. He served in the Navy. He is important to me because he has been there for me and was there to catch me if I fall. My dad is the most amazing person. I will always love him and appreciate him. Thanks for your service, dad!”

— Giuliana from Surrarrer Elementary in Strongsville

“My dad is in the Air Force and has been for a long time. He is so special to me because he works hard to keep a roof over my head and makes sure there's food to eat. And, he cares a lot about people and is always willing to put himself before others. Best Dad Ever!”

— Teilah from Shaw Elementary in Beavercreek

“I am writing about my Great Grandpa Richard Austin. He served in the Army for 4 years during World War II. He is special to me because he was very brave because he was in the war. He was also nice to almost everyone he met, and he told good stories about my Grandma when she was younger and about him when he was younger. He also was a gardner and grew scrumptious fruits and veggies that my Grandma would cook in her recipes. Even though he died when I was 6, he still stays in my heart!”

— Eden from White Oak Middle School in Cincinnati

“My dad used to be in the Marines. His name is Jesse. He used to fix planes for use. If they broke down he fixed them. On Veterans Day, I say thank you to my dad. My dad is special to me because he is my dad and because he spends a lot of time with me. He practices baseball, football, and basketball with me. That is why my dad is special to me.”

— Jacoby from Sidney Fenn Elementary in Medina
