Last season we learned about some of Ohio's unique state symbols in Know Ohio. Then we asked you to come up with a summer symbol for Ohio!
"The O in Ohio should be a sun and the H should stay the same but the I should be the American flag ad the last O be another sun."
- Callie from Mulberry Elementary in Milford
"I think a good summer symbol for Ohio is a strawberry. I think it should be a strawberry because strawberries normally grow in the summer and are a summer fruit that many kids and adults enjoy throughout the summer. Strawberries are a delicious fruit in my opinion and they are red like most of [the other Ohio symbols]. That is what I think is a good summer symbol for Ohio. "
- Maya from Greentown Intermediate in North Canton
"I chose ice cream and a palm tree at the beach because a palm tree and ice cream remind me of the summer and the warmth of the beach sand."
- Kaitlyn from Bath Elementary in Bath
"If I could come up with a summer symbol for Ohio it would be a lake or water because Ohio is right next to Lake Erie and we are lucky that we get Lake Erie and we get to swim in it. That is why I would make a lake or water as the summer symbol!"
- Ava from Geneva Middle in Geneva
"I think it should be a flower with the school behind it because it represents school being out :)"
- Preston from Evergreen Elementary in Metamora
