Three brown bears, Jake, Oreo, and Izzy, recently woke up from their yearly long nap at the Alaska Zoo.
In the fall, brown bears eat all day and all night, stocking up for the four to seven months when they will live off their stored body fat, according to National Geographic Kids. Brown bears can grow five to eight feet long and weigh 700 pounds, so they need to eat a lot to prepare! Their diet consists of vegetables, fish, and small mammals.
