Read the script:

TIME FOR ANOTHER WEATHER UPDATE. LAST WEEK WE TOLD YOU HOW THE EAST COAST WAS BEING HIT BY WITH A HUGE NOR-EASTER. WELL IT TURNS OUT THAT FARMERS IN COLORADO WOULD HAVE BEEN GLAD TO HAVE ALL THAT SNOW. THE STATE HASN’T HAD AS MUCH OF THE WHITE STUFF AS USUAL.

CARLY MOORE REPORTS.

CARLY: ITS THE OFF SEASON FOR MILBERGER FARMS.

SHANE MILBERGER: "WE ARE IN PUEBLO, SO THE MOST IMPORTANT CROP THE MOST IMPORTANT CROP THAT WE RAISE IS THE CHILIES.

WITH A LACK OF PRECIPIATION.... THEY HAVE TO BE STRATEGIC WITH THIS SEASONS CROP.

SHANE MILBERGER: "WE ARE READY TO ORDER SEED RIGHT NOW FOR THIS UPCOMING YEAR WHAT ARE WE GOING TO ORDER WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?"

SHANE MILBERGER: "THE VEGETABLE THAT TAKE MORE WATER THAN OTHERS, ARE WE GOING TO BE ABLE TO PLANT SOME NEW ALFALFA THIS YEAR? OR NOT BECAUSE IT DOES TAKE MORE WATER, THERE IS A LOT OF PLANNING THAT GOES INVOLVED."

AND FOR ALL 350 ACRES THE MILBERGERS HAVE...THAT COULD BE TRICKY.

SHANE MILBERGER: "WE DO HAVE SOME CARRY OVER FROM LAST YEAR IT WILL HELP US GET STARTED THIS SPRING. RIGHT NOW OUR CONCERNS ARE IF WE DON'T GET ANY MOISTURE, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO IN JULY AND AUGUST."

TONY ANDERSON : "WE'VE GOTTEN HALF, OF WHAT WE WOULD NORMALLY GET TO THIS TIME. ...IT IS UNUSUAL…THE NUMBER FOR THERE IN THIS EARLY IN THE SEASON ARE FAIRLY DRAMATIC."

THOUGH THERE IS STILL TIME, IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S HARD TO RECOVER FROM.

TONY ANDERSON: "WE ARE GETTING TO THE POINT NOW WHERE ITS GONNA BE HARD FOR THE WEATHER TO PRODUCE ENOUGH SNOW TO GET US BACK TO NORMAL."

AND HE SAY'S LONG TERM...PREDICTIONS ARE NOT LOOKING GOOD.

SO BASICALLY... THOUGH FARMERS ARE CONCERNED.

SHANE MILBERGER: "WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT EVERYTHING YES,"

OUR CHILIES ARE SAFE.

SHANE: “AND THERE WILL BE CHILIES."

RICK: THANKS CARLY.

ACROSS THE GLOBE THE SNOW WAS FALLING WHERE YOU WOULDN’T EXPECT IT. IN THE SAHARA DESERT -- FOLKS WERE ASTOUNDED TO FIND SNOW ON TOP OF THE SAND! IT’S THE LARGEST HOT DESERT IN THE WORLD AND IS ABOUT AS BIG AS THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES! YEAH; DOESN’T LOOK SO HOT WITH THAT SNOW.

NOW IN SWITZERLAND, THE COUNTRY NORTH OF ITALY, SNOW IS A MORE COMMON OCCURRENCE. IN FACT, THE COUNTRY IS KNOWN FOR THE SKI RESORTS IN THE SWISS ALPS. UNFORTUNATELY FOR SOME TRAVELERS, TOO MUCH SNOW KEPT THEM STUCK IN THE RESORT TOWN OF ZERMATT FOR A COUPLE EXTRA DAYS, BEFORE WORKERS WERE ABLE TO CLEAR THE RAILS FOR TRAINS TO LEAVE THE TOWN.

HUMM I WOULDN’T MIND BEING TRAPPED IN A RESORT…EVEN IF IT WAS SNOWY!
