Space lovers who happen to be down on earth -- listen up! Early risers have the opportunity to see five planets span across the sky in a rare celestial event.
Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter will all be visible to the naked eye for about 45 minutes before sunrise. Experts say it's the first time in more than ten years that all five of them have appeared together in the pre-dawn sky.
Most of us likely need some help with our sky watching. First, figure out when the sun rises in your area and plan to turn your gaze to the sky about 45 minutes prior to that. Venus is the brightest object in the array and will be the easiest for you to spot first. Mercury is the hardest planet to spot, because it’s closest to our sun.
Experts say the show will last through the middle of February.
