It was the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere... and over the weekend, Hurricane Patricia made landfall on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.
Meteorologists monitored the cyclone as it intensified from a tropical storm to a category five hurricane in less than 24 hours, as it barreled toward southwestern Mexico. Fortunately, officials evacuated the area and Patricia made landfall in a more mountainous area, avoiding catastrophic damages to popular resort areas.
And while Mexico begins cleaning up from the storm, areas of the United States have prepared for the heavy rains that could come from the remnants of the storm.
