We just heard about Facebook and the NBA teaming up to live-stream sporting events. But it's not just sports teams who are breaking new ground in digital formats.
The next primary debate between Democratic presidential hopefuls will not only be live streamed, but also streamed in virtual reality.
Virtual reality simply refers to an environment which is experienced through sights and sounds provided by a computer.
CNN says the October 13th Democratic debate in Las Vegas will be the first-ever live stream of a news event in virtual reality. The network partnered with virtual reality technology platform Next-VR for the projects. CNN says with the help of a virtual reality headset, users can watch the debates from the perspective of an audience member. All they need is Samsung gear VR headsets.
They can hold a gaze on a particular candidate, catch off-screen interactions and more.
