Those of you living near the Ohio River probably know all about this… flood waters have finally begun to drop back after some of the worst flooding in 20 years.
Near Cincinnati, the river was six feet higher than flood stage, which is what we call it when water reaches so far outside its banks that normally dry sections of ground are covered.
Rain and melting ice this week not only caused flooding of the Ohio River at the state's southern border, but in northern Ohio, where the Vermilion River in Erie County and the Chagrin River in Cuyahoga and Lake Counties also overflowed their normal areas.
