The Jackson administration wants to replace Cleveland's 61,000 street lights with LED lights. It's part of the Safe, Smart CLE initiative that was announced last month. In addition to brighter, more energy efficient bulbs, many of the new light towers would include surveillance cameras to increase public safety. But some City Council members are pushing to add even more technology. Councilman Kerry McCormack tells ideastream's Rick Jackson why he wants to use this opportunity to track gunshots, monitor data such as snowfall and increase Wi-Fi coverage throughout the city.
