In 2018, Ohio will elect new statewide office holders. Leading up to the election, the City Club will be hosting conversations with candidates seeking statewide office.
On March 13, Connie Pillich announced her candidacy for Governor of Ohio. An Air Force Veteran, Pillich served in Berlin during the cold war and during Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield before moving to Cincinnati to attend law school.
Beginning in 2009, Pillich served three terms in the House of Representatives, representing Ohio’s 28th District in the Cincinnati area. While in office, she worked in support of military service members by introducing legislation to connect veterans to their benefits, help military families meet the financial challenges of military transfers, and help veterans and their families get back to work. This is Pillich's second run for state office; her first bid was for Ohio State Treasurer in 2014.
