We congratulate the 2014 winners of the Cleveland Arts Prize! The oldest prize of its kind in the country, it recognizes the accomplishments of artists and their contributions to the northeast.
Also, Brent Kee Young, a world renounced glass artist and a arts prize recipient from 1987, tells us more about the upcoming awards and what it meant for him as he approaches his retirement from four-decades as the Professor and Chairman of the Glass Department at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
We take a look at a style of print known as photo processing from the Cleveland Print Room. The group is working to preserve this style of print, which had its heyday in the 20th century.
Plus, we find out the importance of body language from artist Judy Carducci, who has spent a life-time observing to create the perfect portrait. But how can a person’s body language translate into artwork? Turns out, how a person carries themselves says a lot about them.
Finally, we travel to New Symrna Beach in Florida to see the “Hub on Canal.” Similar to the West 78th street studios in Cleveland, the space holds over 80 artists showcasing their work.2014 Cleveland Arts Prize Winners
