Antarctica: Wind Farm on World's Windiest Spot

Speaking of weather, Antarctica has a reputation for some of the harshest weather in the world.

Antarctica is the southernmost continent, situated on the South Pole. About 98% of the continent is covered with ice!

Some scientists living near the South Pole are putting the continent's notorious weather to good use. They've established the world's southern-most power-generating wind farm, in earth's most wind-prone region. A wind farm is just an area of land containing a group of energy-producing windmills or wind turbines.
