Bail Reform in Cuyahoga County
When judges set bail for people who are accused of crimes, defendants who can pay are often set free until trial.
But those who can't -- might sit in jail for days; or months, during which time their jobs, and even their homes can be lost; lives might be destroyed, all - before there's any conviction.
So across the nation; and here in northeast ohio, reform efforts are underway, aimed at making the bail system more equitable.
Tonight on ideas - we'll spend most of our time diving into the question of whether courts deliver 'justice for all' or really just for those who can afford the bills.
