Will Gun Control Work in America?

According to the Second Amendment of the Constitution, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This clause has been interpreted in myriad of ways by courts, individuals, and other entities.

In  2013, there were more than 84,000 nonfatal firearm injuries and, every day, 297 people are shot and 89 people die from gun violence. In total, this adds up to more than $516 million in direct  hospital costs.

How we ensure our basic freedoms while also ensuring safety? Join us for our last Youth Forum of this school year - a panel discussion on what gun control could look like and what the impact would be in America.

Panelists include:

Representative Nickie J. Antonio, Ohio House of Representatives, District 13

Angela Ladson, mother of gun violence victim Brandon White

This conversationw is moderated by Youth Forum Council member  TiOlu Oresanya.
