Northeast Ohio’s ideastream Becomes Ideastream Public Media on 20th Anniversary
On the 20th anniversary year of our founding, ideastream is becoming Ideastream Public Media – the home of Northeast Ohio’s member-supported public broadcasting stations WVIZ, WCPN and WCLV. We are your source for trusted local journalism, inspiring stories and quality entertainment.
Ideastream Public Media’s mission is to serve the people of Northeast Ohio as a trusted and dynamic multimedia source for illuminating the world around us. Our vision when our various stations were combined 20 years ago was that the whole would be greater than the sum of our parts – together, we would be stronger and be able to do more. Now, we are adapting that vision for the future by utilizing new technologies, growing our service and remaining committed to community service.
In addition, among a changing media landscape and divisions within our region, there are an increasing number of opportunities to bring people and conversations together. Ideastream Public Media will convene the community and bridge divides – not only through dialogue, but through innovative solutions and investments in local journalism. We will also continue to provide the local and national programming you rely on – including from PBS and NPR.
Our transition to Ideastream Public Media is more than a name and logo change. It signals our evolution and symbolizes us coming together as a unified organization to strengthen our community. To help us further our mission, we need your support as much as we need your voices and ideas. You make everything we do possible. Thank you for being part of our journey.
