The Cleveland Clinic confirmed Wednesday that a first-year resident who made anti-Semitic comments on social media was no longer working at the hospital.
27-year-old Lara Kollab worked at the Clinic from July to September 2018. The hospital said it recently became aware of Kollab’s 2012 tweet that said she would “purposely give all the yahood the wrong meds.” Yahood is the Arabic word for Jews.
In a written statement, the Clinic said it took “immediate action, conducted an internal review and placed her on administrative leave” after learning of the social media post. The Clinic added there have been no reports of any patients being harmed by Kollab.
The Times of Israel reports Kollab made multiple anti-Semitic remarks on social media.
The Clinic said her “departure was related to those posts” and added that her comments do not reflect the beliefs of the organization.
