The view from the Idea Center
There were just two delayed flights, one to Dallas and one to Toronto, when I checked departures at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport earlier this morning.
That’s a good thing on this Monday before Christmas and first full day of Hanukkah.
If that changes, and you find yourself facing lengthy, frustrating delays , ideastream’s Carrie Wise suggests chillaxing by seeking out and enjoying the many works of art on display at the airport.
In a gallery space on the way into the airport from the main parking garage, for example, there are black-and-white landscapes by the Cleveland-based photographer Walter Grossman, who studied with the great Ansel Adams.
“It just gives you a calming, subtle mood,” said the manager of the airport’s art program, a woman with the equally soothing name of Shari Cloud.
May all be calm and all be bright as you prepare to travel (I’m heading to Chicago tomorrow) or welcome guests this holiday week.
See you, bright and early, tomorrow morning on the radio,
Amy Eddings
