"Appalled, but not surprised": local transgender vet reflects on Trump's ban on transgenders in military

President Trump's Tweeted ban on transgender people serving in the U.S. military caught the country by surprise, including, by many reports, the commander in chief's own generals. But it didn't surprise Giovanni Santiago.  Gio is a veteran of the Air Force who lives in Akron and began transitioning from female to male in 2013, four years after he was honorably discharged from service.  Santiago was instrumental in getting the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Administration Center to open a transgender clinic at the VA (one of only two in Ohio -- the other is in Cincinnati --and 40 in the country).  Gio Santiago joins ideastream's "Morning Edition" host, Amy Eddings, to talk about the impact the President's tweet is having on services at the G.I.V.E. Clinic.
