Celebrating the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth, WCLV and Oberlin Conservatory team up to provide new and provocative looks at the composer. Students from Charles McGuire’s Beethoven seminar worked with WCLV’s Kevin Anderson, learning how to write for the engaged public. Joined by WCLV’s John Mills, the student’s results include fresh takes on Beethoven’s music, Beethoven’s European popularity in his own lifetime, Beethoven’s influence on hip-hop, and Beethoven’s legacy with today’s composers.
