Construction has begun on the first American high speed rail system

A MARTÍNEZ, HOST:

Good morning. I'm A Martínez. In many countries around the world, a long-distance trip is a high-speed train ride away. Well, now America's starting to catch up. Construction has begun on the first ever American high-speed rail. It'll run between Las Vegas and Southern California, reaching a top speed of 200 miles per hour. The company behind the project plans for it to be ready by 2028. Best part about the whole thing is you can bring a full tube of toothpaste with you on the ride.
