New ads targeting the so-called anti-monopoly issue 2 have prompted a new salvo in election rhetoric ahead of tomorrow's vote. From our Statehouse Bureau Andy Chow reports.
"With Issue 2, voters give up their rights," said a "No on Issue 2" ad that started playing around the state this weekend, including in a primetime spot during the World Series.
Democratic Representative Mike Curtin helped write the issue which would ban monopolies in the constitution. He slammed the ad's message that the issue would take away the right to vote.
"That's usually when the biggest untruths come out when one side realizes that they're losing and they're trying to scare the voters by throwing up complete deception," said Curtin.
ResponsibleOhio is behind the ad. They are trying to pass Issue 3, the legal pot initiative, which could be nullified if Issue 2 passes as well.
The group stands behind the message and says lawmakers are trying to trick voters
