GOP PAC Bringing Leaders From To Ohio

A Republican group is coming to Ohio this week, just after a conservative group’s national conference left. Statehouse Bureau Chief Karen Kasler has details.

The national Republican political action committee GOPAC will host its state legislative leaders’ summit in Columbus this week, bringing in state senate presidents, house speakers, and elected leaders from around the country. GOPAC says the summit, with panel discussions, network events and the usual conference type activities, will allow attendees – quoting from the GOPAC website – “to share policy ideas and trade best practices in implementing conservative principles to create jobs and make government more effective and efficient.”

The GOPAC conference comes days after the end of the annual meeting of thousands of conservative activists with the Koch-brothers backed group Americans for Prosperity. That event in Columbus featured speeches from five GOP presidential candidates.
