Remains Found on Cleveland's West Side Identified as Those of Christina Adkins, Missing Since 1995

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has confirmed this afternoon that human remains found on Cleveland's West Side are those of Christina Adkins, who went missing in 1995.

Yesterday county prosecutor Timothy McGinty announced Elias Acevedo had been indicted on murder counts in connection with Adkins' death, referring to the victim as "Jane Doe" until she could be identified. Acevedo was also charged with murdering Pamela Pemberton, whose body was discovered in 1994.

Acevedo faces hundreds of additional counts, including the kidnapping and rape of children. He was arrested this summer and is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday.
