Fudge Hesitant To Back Military Action Against Syrian Regime

President Obama said Saturday he'll seek Congressional consent for a strike against the ruling regime, which the administration says launched a chemical attack on civilians.

Fudge -- who is a Democrat -- says for the time being, her vote on a military strike would be "NO"...until the administration can explain the objective.

"I need to figure out why we're going, what we need to do, and how we in fact can stop this from happening again," Fudge told WCPN. "I don't want to go there and then we still can't stop this from happening another time. We're fighting enough places and we're fighting enough wars, and so I'm just hopeful that they'll give me the information and a way forward that makes some sense to me."

Last week, Fudge signed on to a letter urging the president to take the issue before Congress. She commented today at the Labor Day parade held annually in her district.
