Lanci says part of the goal will be to commemorate victims of crime.
Lanci says the event -- scheduled for Sunday Sept. 15 -- will bring together pastors, congregations and gospel singers from all over the city.
"And you'll see, when we bring people together, even if they haven't sung together in the past…we're going to make tremendous harmony," he said.
Lanci is the sole candidate seeking to unseat Mayor Frank Jackson in the fall. He's taken the mayor to task over the state of the public schools, community-police relations and crime. The two candidates will face off in a debate at the City Club of Cleveland on Sept. 18.
