Ohio State Highway Patrol Finds 24 Kilos Of Cocaine

Another big drug bust by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Around 3 o’clock Thursday morning, troopers pulled over a car for a lane violation on the Ohio Turnpike near Maumee. A drug-sniffing dog indicated there were drugs inside and troopers did indeed find some, 24 kilos of cocaine. Sgt. Robert Ashenfelter described it for Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen.

He says two suspects, both from California, are now in the Lucas County Jail. They are each charged with 2 first-degree felonies and a fifth degree felony. The maximum punishment if convicted ---- 20 years in prison and a 40 thousand dollar fine.
