A Hinckley-based developer has been charged in a public corruption investigation with giving a $20,000 bribe to a suburban councilman.
The bribe recipient was identified as "Public Official 17", but described as a Strongsville city council member who is employed by the coroner's office - a description which matches councilman Patrick Coyne.
The charge against 69 year old David Terry was filed Friday as a criminal information, which usually signals a pending plea bargain.
The coroner's office says it's aware of the matter but that it's not connected to the coroner's work.
