The people themselves were young and old, black and white, urban and suburban, but the one thing they weren't, was shy. The crowd cheered as Obama took the stage, shouted words of acknowledgment and praise at the images on the big screen, and amid the Amen's and whoops of joy - there were some tears. Jonathan Scott is a Canadian living in Cleveland, and he says you don't have to be an American citizen to know this is a historic moment.
SCOTT: When we first saw Barak Obama coming down the aisle - that's when it really hit me that this was really going to happen. The weight of it all just came down, and I nearly cried.
And Scott wasn't alone. Jane Outcalt of Cleveland says she saw a lot of shiny eyes in the room.
OUTCALT: It's very, very moving. It's such a historic moment and to be part of it gives you the chills, just chills.
