And in another legal matter, there's a split verdict today in Guantanamo, Cuba at the war crimes trial of the man known as Osama bin Laden's driver. A military tribunal found Salim Hamdan guilty of aiding terrorism but not guilty of another charge, conspiracy.

The military court is going back into session to decide what sentence he will now get. Mr. Hamdan is a citizen of Yemen. He's been in U.S. custody for seven years and at Guantanamo for much of that time.
BRAND: And he has never denied being an aid to Osama bin Laden, but his lawyers say he was just a low-level driver. No matter what his sentence is, there are now plans to release Hamdan from Guantanamo. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
