Many Ohioans don't have a garage so they often start their cars, lock them and leave them idling for a few minutes. But that's illegal under an Ohio law passed back in 2004 and it could amount to a $150 fine. Republican Representative John Becker says that doesn't make sense.
Becker: "I think the issue had to be with cars are getting stolen and people are jumping into a car that was running. You can have your car running and locked, you know with a remote starter or some cars have a combination lock on the side or you simply have two keys. You know, most people have two keys for their cars."
Becker is introducing legislation to wipe out that law altogether. He's attached it to the state's transportation budget.
