Three brothers arrested in connection with the disappearances of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight may face charges including kidnapping and rape.

Formal charges in the case have not yet been filed.

Ariel Castro, 52; Onil Castro, 50; and Pedro Castro, 54, were arrested yesterday.

Michelle Knight had been missing since 2002, Amanda Berry since 2003 and Gina DeJesus since 2004.

They were found yesterday after a neighbor heard Berry crying for help and helped her escape. After police arrived, the other women left the house, police said.

Police say Ariel Castro lived in the Seymour Avenue home where the girls were found. Public records show that Onil and Pedro Castro lived in other houses nearby.

Law enforcement officials say their records show there were never any calls for service to Ariel Castro’s home on Seymour Ave, the location where the three women were rescued Monday evening.  Police say Ariel worked as a Cleveland school district bus driver, and was questioned once in connection with a child left on the bus, but no charges were ever filed in relation to the incident.

FBI investigators and Cleveland detectives plan to interview the women soon, to learn more about the case. They say the full investigation could take more than a month to complete.

Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated charges had been filed against the three men. Charges are still pending.
